Brief Biographical Information:

Dipl.-Ing. Michael Winter is a Ph.D. student at the Institut fuer Raumfartsysteme of the University of Stuttgart, Germany, where he works with Prof. Monika Auweter-Kurtz on problems of radiation from microwave generated plasma simulating that of spacecraft vehicles. The institute is home to the German SOFIA Institute (D.S.I.), managing the German contribution to the NASA/DLR "SOFIA" airborne observatory program.

Research on Hyperseed MAC:

High resolution spectroscopy of the reentry emissions using a slit spectrometer and fiber optics cables to collect the light.
